EPHS Construction Project
Major changes are happening for Elmwood Park High School's Large Group Instruction (LGI) Room on the first floor and the school's library on the second floor!
Beginning over the 2023 spring break, crews began transforming both areas into new office and learning spaces. The work is ongoing this summer and will extend into the start of the 2023-24 school year, with an anticipated completion date of early December 2023.
A construction barrier wall has been set up around the LGI, which allows for the construction crew to renovate the designated areas and be completely separated from the students and staff while school is in session.
All construction workers have had a background check and are badged to work on school grounds.
During the project, student and staff parking and entrance procedures will remain the same, other than no access to the District Office parking lot, where a construction staging area has been set up.
On the first floor, the LGI Room area is being converted into District 401's new administrative offices. New learning spaces as well as bathroom facilities and an elevator are also being added.
On the second floor, the library is being converted into a state-of-the-art learning area, with classrooms and breakout rooms as well as a renovated tech office and special education faculty room. In addition, the new elevator will go up to the library, enabling easy access to both floors.
