By Dr. Amanda Brode-Rico, Elmwood Park High School Principal
Dear Tiger Students and Families,
It is with great pride that I start school year 2023-24 as principal of Elmwood Park High School. This summer I have worked hard to get to know the staff of EPHS, and now that the school year has begun I will work just as hard to get to know our students and families. On the note of our families, I will be beginning a Parent Advisory that will meet quarterly. If you are interested in being a part of this group, I encourage you to reach out to me.
This year EPHS will have a completely new administrative team that I’m incredibly excited to lead side-by-side with. We have a brand new assistant principal, Mr. Anthony Swope, who is coming with nine years of leadership experience that was spent both at Waukegan and Lake Park High Schools. Our new Assistant Principal of Athletics position was filled by seventeen-year veteran Anthony Sylvester. We also have two brand new deans, one of whom is coming directly from our teaching staff, Ms. Angela Andrews who has also been at EPHS for over a decade. Finally, our other new dean will be brand new to EPHS and his name is Mr. Andre Moffett. All of us are so eager and excited to be able to help support all of our staff and students.
This year, we as a school will continue our goal of making it a priority to provide all of our Tigers with the most challenging, inspiring and well-rounded educational experience. We will do this by providing a variety of classes and supports for students of all abilities and interests. Our amazing and dedicated staff have created a variety of opportunities both inside and outside the classroom for students to get involved in all in an effort to support their ultimate post-secondary pursuits.
I am incredibly humbled and excited to take on this new role and to continue to serve the EPHS community. Please don’t hesitate to reach out with any questions, concerns or ideas.
With Tiger Pride,
Dr. Amanda Brode-Rico
