Principal's Message
By Dr. Amanda Brode-Rico, Elmwood Park High School Principal
Dear Tiger Students and Families,
It is with great pride that I begin my second year as the extremely proud principal of Elmwood Park High School alongside my entire Building Leadership Team [BLT] from last year. This summer has been spent with them, looking at our data from last year and anxiously planning how we can build off all the positivity from last school year. With specific regard to our families, we will spend a major focus this year working to better connect with you. “It takes a village” to raise our children, and it is very important to us that we ensure that we have strong partnerships with you all so that your student can have the utmost productive experience while they are here for their four years, and so that they have a plan for themselves once that four years is over. I will continue meeting with the Parent Advisory I created last year. Should this be an interest of yours to join, please do not hesitate to reach out. I am always looking to add new members, especially families who will be entering EPHS for the first time this upcoming school year.
As mentioned, my entire BLT team will be returning. They have been a leading factor in the huge success that we experienced as a school last year. For those of you who are new to EPHS, I’d like to take a moment to introduce these very important leaders. Assistant Principal Mr. Anthony Swope will be going on his tenth year in administration. His major focus has been curriculum and instruction and our Students Services Team. Assistant Principal of Athletics & Activities, Mr. Tony Sylvester, will move to the helm this year. He looks to continue to grow our extracurricular programs for our students. Deans Ms. Angela Andrews and Mr. Andre Moffett will go on their second year as they continue to work side-by-side with our District Safety & Security Manager, Ms. Julie Tsagalis, to strengthen all the expectations that we put into place last year that helped to create a calm learning environment for students and staff. In combination with them, we have an unbeatable staff who are here to actively help support our students and to ensure their success!
Let’s have another fantastic year, Tigerland!
With Tiger Pride,
Dr. Amanda Brode-Rico
Principal
