Principal's Message

Welcome to the 2026–2027 school year! My name is Megan VerVynck and I am both honored and excited to be starting my first year as Elmwood Park High School’s principal. Elmwood Park is a special place, and I am thrilled to be a part of the EPHS community and to get to call myself a Tiger.  In addition, this year, Elmwood Park High School is welcoming two new assistant principals - Mr. John Pomagier and Mr. Tom Lentine. Together, we are committed to maintaining Elmwood Park High School’s tradition of excellence and pursuing every opportunity for continuous improvement. Our team would like to welcome both new and returning students, families and staff to Elmwood Park High School and Elmwood Park CUSD 401; we look forward to working together to make this a truly great school year.

Our mission at Elmwood Park High School is to help develop students to become critical thinkers, life-long learners, and productive members of society. As such, Elmwood Park High School is a place where students are able to engage with rigorous curriculums and highly qualified staff, explore college and career pathways, and grow as both learners and as individuals.  We have a great team here at EPHS that is committed to working with all stakeholders to support the social, emotional, physical, and academic growth of our students.  We encourage our students to challenge themselves to reach their fullest potentials and provide the support and tools they need to become the best versions of themselves.

We believe that a strong partnership between home and school is the foundation of every child's/student’s success. Elmwood Park High School is better and stronger because of this partnership and collective commitment. Consistent, daily attendance is vital for every student ~ every day counts. Please help ensure students are here each and every day. Keep in mind that Mondays are early release days across the district, allowing for important collaboration and planning. Dismissal on Mondays is at 1:55 pm. Tuesday thru Friday dismissal is at 2:55 pm. This schedule includes daily Tiger Time, ensuring all students are receiving what they need to be successful.

Consistent and open communication between home and school is key for a successful school year. Parents will receive all important school updates through the ParentSquare platform (formerly Remind) and through our weekly newsletter. Both resources will contain important updates and reminders for students and families alike. We invite our families to be as involved as possible in the school and district communities.

Elmwood Park High School is a great place to learn and grow - and this team is excited and look forward to meeting new and returning families while providing a great experience for all students.
